Why people love TiviMate

TiviMate looks and feels like a traditional TV guide. It is fast, the EPG grid is easy to read, and it handles catch-up and favourites well. It runs on Android TV, Google TV and the Fire TV Stick — not on Samsung, LG or Apple devices.

Install it

• Android TV / Google TV: install from the Google Play Store.
• Fire TV Stick: install with the Downloader app — see our Firestick guide for enabling unknown apps.

Add your playlist

1. Open TiviMate and choose Add playlist.
2. Pick Xtream Codes.
3. Enter the server URL, username and password from your welcome message.
4. Give the playlist a name and press Next. Channels, films and the TV guide load automatically.

Make it yours

• Favourites: long-press a channel and choose Add to favourites. Put your 3PM football channels here before Saturday.
• Hide groups you never use: Settings > Playlists > Manage groups.
• Catch-up: channels with a clock icon let you go back in the guide and play earlier shows.

Is TiviMate Premium worth it?

The free version works, but Premium unlocks favourites, catch-up, recording and multiple playlists. It is a modest yearly fee paid to the TiviMate developer, not to us. Most regular users find it worth it.

Making TiviMate work for you

Set up the TV guide

The guide loads with your Xtream Codes login. In Settings > EPG you can set how often it updates (once a day is plenty) and how many days ahead to show.

Channel groups

Go to Settings > Playlists > your playlist > Manage groups, and hide every group you never watch. A short list is much faster to use with a remote.

Recording (Premium)

With TiviMate Premium you can record a programme or a whole series. Recordings need storage — a USB drive on an Nvidia Shield or Android TV box works well; Firesticks have little space.

Catch-up

On channels with catch-up, scroll back in the guide and select a programme that has already aired.

Reminders

Select a future programme in the guide and set a reminder — handy for kick-offs and race starts.

Is TiviMate Premium worth it?

For anyone who watches live TV every day, yes. It unlocks favourites, catch-up, recording, multiple playlists and more control over the guide, for a small yearly fee paid to the TiviMate developer.
